The UCR-Office of TRiO Programs is the home of two Upward Bound Programs, (Upward Bound Classic and Upward Bound Oasis), and an Educational Talent Search Program . The TRiO Programs are funded by the United States Department of Education and are educational opportunity outreach programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search Programs assist low-income and/or potential first-generation college students to progress through the academic pipeline from high school to post-baccalaureate programs.
At UCR, the TRiO Programs have been in existence since 2002 and are currently providing services to over 700 students at nine schools in the Banning, Beaumont, Riverside, and San Bernardino areas.
